Great Review From Janet Hansen Of Scout66.com

Scout66.com brings fans and bands together through live concert reviews.Hi all, we just saw this on our Facebook page. Janet Hansen of Scout 66 writes:

"Amazing sound! Love this. Just listened to cuts on your music page which are at once familiar and very fresh. Very few are connecting with listeners who have a true appreciation for sophisticated writing and overall presentation.

This rocks in the truest sense of the word."

Thanks Janet!

Blog 2 of 9: The 2010 Music Success in Nine Weeks Blogging Challenge

Arial Hyatt: Author of Music Success In Nine WeeksAlright folks, I'm officially an advacate of this blog challenge. It has given us so many good ideas and we're just finishing up week two.

This week has been about writing the "perfect pitch" for the band and let me tell you, it ain't easy! But we're learning a lot. I'm not ready to share our pitch yet but will be posting a work in progress version this week and would love to hear from you all with your thoughts.

The thing that I am most excited about is our website redesign that was inspired by this blog challenge. We are working our butts of on it and will have more on that this week. I hope.

In the meantime, check out Ariel Hyatt who is the author of the book. She definatelly got it going on and we are all looking forward to learning more from her.

Blog 1 of 9: The 2010 Music Success in Nine Weeks Blogging Challenge

I came across this Music Success In Nine Weeks book a couple of weeks ago when I was surfing the web. I was more than just "surfing the web" actually. I was researching the topic of how to build a local fan base as a musician. This topic has been on my mind for some time now and I am continually searching for new ideas and others experiences.

Music Success in Nine Weeks is a guide for musicians to define their brand, grow their fan-base, earn more income, and achieve success in the digital environment, whether they are new to the industry or longtime artists.

I will admit that at first I was skeptical about this book and this blog challenge. Now that I have started reading the book and and almost through week one I am REALLY getting into it. I've started making some changes already in my thinking and have also been working on some website changes.

I will keep you all posted as I continue through the next eight plus weeks.

JTB Playing @ 350 Garden Action Day on 10/10/10

This October 10th, that's right - 10/10/10, 350.org is organizing a Global Work Day to kick-start ACTION around the world in response to Global Climate Change. Literally millions of people are going to participate in one of the largest coordinated events ever produced in response to our planetary crises. You do not want to be left holding the remote when everyone else around the world is standing together on thi...s historic day. Lucky for you, we here in San Francisco are having one of the coolest events the world over.

Please join Kitchen Garden SF, Hayes Valley Farm, the San Francisco Permaculture Guild, the Wigg Party, San Francisco Parks Trust, SF Environment, the SF Urban Agriculture Alliance, the Bay Area Derailleurs and 350.org in participating in 350 Garden Action Day.

Throughout the day, people around San Francisco are going to be doing Garden Actions - taking whatever space they have at their disposal and planting something that will eventually yield food. Wowzers.
